Bangor University Treborth Playing Fields Site selected GreenFields to install a 119m x 74m sports pitch, meeting the standards for the recommended dimensions for a full-sized rugby and football pitch. The new surface was constructed using a tufted product – GreenFields Slide Max Pro 60. The carpet offers excellent split resistance for advanced performance with a natural visual appeal. It is perfect for grounds with high usage rates as the ultra-durable qualities provide the artificial turf with high resilience due to the ribbed diamond shaped fibres and offers a perfect solution for high utilisation pitches like those at universities.   

GreenFields also installed a 20m x 15m 3G warm up area attached to the new build sports turf. The tufted surface was accompanied by a Pro Game by Trocellen shock pad enabling rugby to be played for maximum comfort and safety. On project completion the pitch successfully passed both FIFA and World Rugby quality standard testing.

The GreenFields Slide Max Pro 60 tufted carpet features integral white lines with additional cut in yellow lines to enable both football and rugby to be played with the added ability to increase rental capacity outside standard university playing hours. Finishing touches included spectator fencing and perimeter fencing, a new floodlighting system and new sports equipment including football and rugby goals, team shelters and corner flags. The pitch was also completed with a logo mat featuring the Bangor University crest as well as dual lingual safety signage in Welsh and English which was requested by the university.
